Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Specs & Price

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is the most recent addition to Samsung’s Note series of plus-sized smartphones. It’s the successor to the Galaxy Note 5, and it shares a lot of similarities with Samsung’s other 2016 flagships, including water resistance and essentially the same technology. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 does, however, include an iris scanner for further security, as well as a curved 5.7-inch display.

The Design

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has a new design when compared to the Galaxy Note 5. It has a curved display, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, although the radius of the curves is different. This reduces the width of the smartphone by around 2.2mm while preserving the display size at 5.7 inches.

Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is laminated to the back, which has the same curved edges as the front. This, according to Samsung, will make it easier to use the phablet. Coral Blue, Black Onyx, Silver Titanium, and Gold Platinum are the colors offered for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

The phone is water resistant (IP68), which is a first for a Note device. The S Pen active stylus that comes with the device is also water resistant and now supports 4,096 pressure levels.

Display and Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has the same 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Display as its predecessor, but it is now curved at the edges like the S7 Edge, as I said previously. The resolution of the monitor is 1440 x 2560 pixels.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has cameras that are identical to those found in the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. A 12 megapixel camera is located on the back of the phone. Optical image stabilization and other technologies such as dual-pixel sensor technology are included in the camera. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel camera.

Hardware and Software

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor powers the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Two dual-core processors, one clocked at up to 2.15GHz and the other at up to 1.6GHz, will be offered on variants for the United States, Canada, Japan, and China.

In the rest of the world, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will include an octa-core Exynos 8890 chipset with two quad-core processors clocked at up to 2.3GHz and 1.6GHz, respectively. The phone comes preloaded with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), although it can be upgraded to Android 7.0. (Nougat)

The phablet comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It also has a microSD card that can hold up to 256GB of data. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes in single SIM and twin SIM configurations, both of which enable Nano SIM. The single SIM model has a dedicated microSD slot, however the dual-SIM model’s SIM2 slot also serves as a microSD slot.

With internet rates of up to 600 Mbps, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 supports ultra fast LTE. With a 3500mAh Li-Po battery, it has additional power. It also has wireless charging capabilities.

Security Features

The fingerprint sensor on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been replaced by an even more secure iris scanner, similar to the one used on the Microsoft Lumia 950. This allows you to unlock your phone with either your finger or your eye, depending on your preference.

You may use this functionality to unlock apps as well. You can also establish secure folders that need a fingerprint or iris scan to access. Furthermore, the Iris scanner can verify payments made with Samsung Pay.

The Samsung Galaxy Note comes with Samsung Knox security software, which encrypts your data and ensures your phone’s security and privacy. The company will also sell a variety of accessories, such as extra battery life and a genuine QWERTY keyboard, among other things. Samsung Gear VR and Gear 360 are supported by the phone.

Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will go on sale in the United States on August 19, 2016. There is currently no pricing information available. At this time, we are unable to confirm availability in Nigeria or Kenya. When it becomes available, we predict the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to cost between 275,000 and 350,000 Naira in Nigeria, depending on region.
