The iMac computer line from Apple has been updated for a more durable performance and spectacular viewing experience. The most recent versions come equipped with Retina displays that are best in their class, powerful CPUs and graphics, new storage options, and enhanced accessories. A 4K resolution upgrade is also being made to the 21.5-inch model.
Design and Display
The latest iMac computers look identical to their predecessors in terms of appearance. But there has been an astonishing improvement to the display. Unlike last year, Apple has equipped every 27-inch iMac model with a beautiful Retina 5K display (which is same as the iMac early 2015 model).
With an astounding 14.7 million pixels, or approximately seven times as much as an HD display, it has the highest screen resolution of any all-in-one PC. Here, we’re referring to outstanding, breath-taking screen quality.
The 21.5-inch iMac now has a Retina 4K display option, up from its previous Full HD maximum.
Upgraded Accessories
The iMac’s wireless trackpad, keyboard, and mouse have also been updated. The enhanced, full-size Magic Keyboard takes up less room (about 13%) and is made for more precise and comfortable typing.
The groundbreaking Force Touch technology is now available on desktop for the first time with the Magic TrackPad 2, which is 29 percent bigger. Magic Mouse 2 is lighter and appears more sturdy even though it is as thick as the previous model.
All three accessories may now be quickly associated with a computer using a Lightning-to-USB connector and are all powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
Performance
The updated 27-inch iMac, according to Apple, is powered by Intel Core processors of the most recent version. The latest AMD Radeon graphics and up to 32 GB of RAM work with the CPUs to generate up to 3.7 teraflops of computational capability.
Contrarily, the 21.5-inch iMac has an Intel Core CPU from the fifth generation, Intel Iris Pro Graphics, and up to 16 GB of RAM.
Other Features
The most recent version of Mac OS X El Capitan, which was created especially for Retina displays and offers greater performance, functionality, and management, will boot the 2015 Apple iMac models.
One can choose from a number of quick storage choices, such as the 1TB Fusion Drive With 24GB fast flash and the 2TB/3TB Fusion Drive with 128GB fast flash.
Super-fast Wi-Fi 802.11ac and two Thunderbolt 2 ports on the beautiful iMac all-in-one promise data transfer rates for external drives and other high-performance peripherals of up to 20 Gbps.
Pricing and availability
The Apple iMac late 2015 update is now available for purchase in the US, with prices starting at $1,099 for 21.5-inch units and $1,799 for 27-inch models. Depending on your area and the All-in-One desktop’s configuration, the iMac price in Nigeria is anticipated to start at about N200,000.
