How to delete Facebook notifications that you don’t want in your Notifications tab, on desktop or mobile
Facebook notifications are updates that appear when you receive a new message, a comment on one of your posts, or when someone invites you to an event or group. These notifications can be helpful for staying up-to-date on activity related to your account, but they can also become overwhelming if you receive too many.
To delete a Facebook notification:
- Go to your Facebook home page and click on the bell icon in the top right corner to view your notifications.
- Click on the notification you want to delete. This will open the post or message associated with the notification.
- In the top right corner of the post or message, click on the three dots icon and select “Turn off notifications for this post” or “Turn off notifications for this message.”
- Confirm your choice by clicking “Turn off” in the pop-up window.
Alternatively, you can delete multiple notifications at once by clicking on the three dots icon in the top right corner of the notifications page and selecting “Mark all as read.” This will clear all of your notifications and remove the red notification bubble from the top of your page.
Keep in mind that deleting a notification will not delete the post or message associated with it. If you want to delete the post or message itself, you will need to do so separately.
