How to customize Google Alerts
To customize Google Alerts, follow these steps:
- Go to the Google Alerts website (https://www.google.com/alerts).
- Sign in to your Google account if you are not already signed in.
- In the “Create an alert about” field, enter the topic or keyword for which you want to receive alerts.
- In the “Show options” section, you can customize the type and frequency of alerts you receive. For example, you can choose to receive alerts only for news articles, only for web pages, or both. You can also choose to receive alerts as they happen, once a day, or once a week.
- In the “Deliver to” field, enter the email address where you want to receive the alerts.
- Click “Create Alert” to set up the alert.
You can create multiple alerts for different topics or keywords by repeating these steps. To edit or delete an alert, click on the three vertical dots next to the alert and select “Edit” or “Delete”. You can also manage all of your alerts from the “Manage your alerts” page.
How to delete Google Alerts
To delete a Google Alert, follow these steps:
- Go to https://www.google.com/alerts in your web browser and sign in with your Google account.
- You will see a list of all the alerts you have set up. To delete an alert, click the three vertical dots next to it and select “Delete.”
- Alternatively, you can delete multiple alerts at once by selecting the checkboxes next to the alerts you want to delete and then clicking the “Delete” button at the top of the page.
- Confirm that you want to delete the alert by clicking “OK” in the confirmation dialog box.
Note: If you want to temporarily disable an alert rather than deleting it permanently, you can click the “Edit” button next to the alert and then uncheck the “Active” box. This will deactivate the alert until you reactivate it by checking the “Active” box again.
