How to Set up Google Alerts to Stay up to date
Would you be interested in being informed when information on news, products, businesses, or even a specific individual is published online? Google Alerts allows you to be notified when particular terms are used online.
The change detection and alerting tool Google Alerts allows you to configure notifications so that you can receive information. The only requirement to begin configuring and changing these alerts is a Gmail account.
However, Google Alerts offers advantages that go beyond merely raising your self-esteem. Monitoring mentions of your business or brand may provide opportunities for collaborations, link-building, and other strategies.
It is a fantastic beginner program that is totally free. Despite being owned by Google, it does not collect all web mentions.

How to create a Google Alert
To create a Google Alert, complete the following steps:
- From your computer or mobile device, go to google.com/alerts. When you log in to google.com/alerts, Google will ask if you want to create alerts based on your name.
- Type in the topic for which you wish to receive alerts. Type in the topic about which you would like to receive alerts.
- Click “Create Alert.”
How to modify a Google Alert
You have the ability to edit your alert through Google. Instead of selecting “Create Alert,” as stated in Step 3 above, choose “Show Options.”
- The up and down arrows can be used from here to adjust the alert features:
- Alert frequency: Choose to receive an alert as it happens, once a day, or once a week.
- Sources: Opt to receive notifications from all sources, or customize to receive notifications from blogs, videos, or the news.
- Language: Select a language or ask for notifications from all languages.
- Location: Receive notifications from all regions, or select a specific country.
- Quality: Choose to receive what Google deems as “only the best results,” or select “All results.”
- Delivery method: Select which account will receive your alerts
