Umidigi A7s Specs and Price
The Umidigi A7s is the first entry-level smartphone to include a contactless thermometer, which is also available on the Umidigi A9 and Umidigi A9 Pro. The fact that numerous prominent smartphone makers have saturated the low-budget market demonstrates that making ripples will require much more than a low price tag and standard features. Umidigi recognizes this, which is likely why the Umidigi A7s, a less expensive sister of the Umidigi A7, has a contactless thermometer.

Design and Display
In terms of design, the Umdigi A7s is a carbon copy of the standard Umidigi A7. On a larger chassis, it’s the same design. However, the lack of a fingerprint sensor on the back of both smartphones will make them easy to distinguish.
A 6.53-inch LCD display with a screen resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a 20: 9 aspect ratio sits at the front. It has a teardrop notch on the front that houses a selfie camera.
On the back, we can see the Umidigi branding, indicating that this is an Umidigi smartphone. A square camera module with three cameras and a contactless infrared thermometer is also available.
A Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer
A non-contact infrared contact thermometer is one of the features built into the A7s to set it apart from its low-cost competitors.
The non-contact infrared thermometer sensor, as its name implies, allows enthusiasts to use the A7s to monitor the temperature of humans without making direct contact.
One of the applications for this sensor is to assess the temperature of humans from a distance, which is part of the safety measures taken during the Corona Virus pandemic. All other applications for a contactless thermometer will work with this sensor as well.
The Cameras
The cameras on the Umidigi A7s are, in my opinion, very welcome for the price. It doesn’t compare to the wonders we’ve been accustomed to witnessing, but it’s reassuring when the price tag is considered.
A quad rear camera setup featuring a 13MP primary camera with an aperture of f/1.9, an 8MP ultrawide camera hinged at 120 degrees, and a 2MP depth camera is part of its armament. This arrangement can record videos at a maximum resolution of 720p at 30 frames per second.
A single 8MP front-facing camera with an aperture of f/1.8 takes selfies.
Hardware and Software
The Umidigi A7s was classified as an entry-level smartphone, which means we’re looking at low-end smartphone hardware that won’t be burdened with power-hungry chores.
An octa-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, a Mali-T720-MP1 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a non-removable 4150mAh battery are all housed inside.
The Umidigi A7s uses the stock Android interface on top of the Android 10 Go edition operating system on the software side.
Connectivity
A 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB type-c port, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 are all included on the Umidigi A7s.
Users will not be able to use 5G support since internet connectivity is limited to 4G LTE.
Umidigi A7s Price and Availability
The Umdigi A7s starts at roughly $79 on major internet retailers. In Nigeria, the A7s smartphone costs 39,900 Naira, 8,499 KHS in Kenya, and 549 GHC in Ghana.
Please note, however, that the Umidigi A7s was offered for $70 with the caveat that enthusiasts must place pre-orders before September 21.
This phone will be available in three colors: Granite grey, Sky Blue, and Peacock Green for enthusiasts.
