Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra: Cheapest Flagship Phone?

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is the Mi 10 Ultra’s successor as well as the most expensive member of the Xiaomi Mi 11 series. It has a better performance system as a successor, which is mostly due to its Snapdragon 888 CPU. We also have a design that is distinguishable.
The Mi 11 series, which was just debuted, offers amazing features at prices that are frequently lower than those of the competitors. We’ve already seen how good the Mi 11X is, and now it’s time to look at the Mi 11 Ultra in more detail.

On paper, this smartphone outperforms the competition for a flagship priced at Rs. 69,999, but Xiaomi still has a brand perception problem to overcome. Does it make sense to choose the Mi 11 Ultra over flagships like the OnePlus 9 Pro, iPhone 12 mini, and Samsung Galaxy S21, which all sell for the same price as the Mi 11 Ultra?

Design and Display

I’m not surprised at all by the Xiaomi Mi 11 ultra’s display, given its recent appearance. However, its large camera bump on the back is tough to ignore. It’s the most noticeable feature on this chassis design, as strange as that may sound.

Xiaomi crammed a lot of features into the back camera module, resulting in the largest camera bump on a smartphone to date. Three cameras, an LED flash, and a 1.1-inch OLED display are among the features of this camera bump, which allows the person being caught to see how he or she would appear as an object being captured.

The Xiaomi and 5G branding can also be found on the back, indicating that this is a Xiaomi phone. Ceramics make up the back of this smartphone.

On the front, we got a 6.81-inch AMOLED display, which is nearly identical to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. This display has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a density of 515 pixels per inch.

Camera

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra’s cameras appear to be woven from the same fabric as its predecessor, but one of them has been trimmed short, leaving us with a triple system rather than the quad setup on its predecessor.

A 50MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0, an 8MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a 13MP ultrawide camera with a 128 field of view are all included in the rear camera configuration. This camera can record video at a resolution of 8k at 30 frames per second.

Up front, there’s a 20MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture. This camera is capable of recording videos up to 1080p @ 60fps.

Software and Performance

The Xiaomi Mi 11 ultra-performance combo is an update rather than a replacement for the Mi 10 ultra.

In place of last year’s Snapdragon 865, we now have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor with a 5nm technology. The Adreno 660 GPU, 8GB / 12GB RAM, 256GB / 512GB storage choices, and a non-removable 5000mAh Li-Po battery (vs. 4500mAh on the predecessor) are also included.

Enthusiasts will also be treated to a 67W fast wired charging option, which is less powerful than the Mi 10 Ultra’s 120W. Wireless charging with a 67W output and reverse wireless charging with a 10W output are also available.

We have the MIUI 12.5 user interface running on the Android 11 operating system on the software side.

Price and Availability

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra starts at roughly $1,299 on major online retailers. In Nigeria, this equals 348,234 Naira, 99,535 KSH in Kenya, and 5,270 GHC in Ghana.

The 12GB / 256GB model will set you back around $1,399, while the 12GB / 512GB variant will set you back approximately $1,499. Users who want the top-of-the-line 12GB / 512GB ceramics model will have to pay around $1,615.
