The Umidigi A9 Pro is the newest addition to the roster of Chinese phones that are taking over the mid-range market by giving a lot of value for a reasonable price. Umidigi is without a doubt one of the upcoming phone brands, having released a number of products such as the Umidigi Bison and the new-generation Umidigi A7 Pro.
The Umidigi A9 Pro comes with excellent display, camera, processor, and storage features, as well as a 4150mAh battery to top it off. The phone does, however, include an unconnected infrared thermometer, but its overall performance is sufficient to mask it. After the Nokia 5.4 and the Oukitel C21, this latest Umidigi smartphone is one of the few handsets that offers a stock Android experience.
Is the Umidigi A9 Pro, on the other hand, a worthwhile improvement from the A7 Pro? Continue reading to discover our whole assessment and judgement on this next-generation tablet.

Umidigi A9 Pro: Design and Build-up
The Umidigi A9 Pro features a glass construction on both sides with measurements of 158.7 x 74.9 x 8.6 mm and a robust metal frame on the back, which we term flagship-like aesthetics. This phone has a similar design as the A7 Pro, but with a few enhancements and a 205g weight, which may seem heavy to some fans but adds to the phone’s luxury feel.
The phone’s front and back glass are 2.5D, which means they’re slightly curved at all sides, and it’s available in Onyx Black or Forest Green. The back panel of the phone is flat and clean, giving it a premium appearance. Because of its larger-than-necessary bump, the rectangular quad-camera setup on the top left will quickly catch your notice, forcing you to rely on the accompanying silicone cover for protection. In addition to the camera, there is a fingerprint sensor, which is followed by the UMIDIGI company mark. Thankfully, the infrared thermometer and flash are conveniently positioned next to the cameras.
When you turn the phone over to the front, you’ll see a full-screen display with a U-shaped waterdrop notch for the selfie camera and slim sides. This is one of the few bezel-free displays we’ve seen, but it’s marred by a small chin.
A USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack are both located at the bottom of the device, next to the speaker grill. The controls are located on the right, while the SIM card and SDcard slot are located on the left.
There’s nothing to complain about in terms of design, as it’s one of the best you’ll find for this price. Of course, this is a lovely and elegant design that is reminiscent of previous generations’ aesthetics.
Umidigi A9 Pro: Display
The display will be IPS LCD by mid-range standards, if you’re talking about inexpensive phones, which is what the Umidigi A9 Pro delivers. Also, the 6.3-inch display isn’t bad because it’s rather huge, with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, which provides clear, brilliant, and vivid colors that are ideal for watching films on YouTube or Netflix.
A teardrop notch with a 19.5: 9 ratio and 92.7 percent screen coverage is also visible on the display. Furthermore, the display has a pixel density of 409 PPI, which means you won’t be able to see any pixels from a close distance.
However, because it lacks a refresh rate, this isn’t the best screen on the market, but in the budget category, you’ll receive more than you pay for. Fortunately, whether of whether you’re browsing, playing games, or watching movies, this display is suitable for media consumption.
Umidigi A9 Pro: Cameras
The cameras are one of the Umidigi A9 Pro’s main selling factors. Their specs on paper, as well as their performance, are exceptional.
On the back, there’s a quad-camera setup with a Sony 48-MP lens, which you’ll receive if you buy the 6GB/128GB edition. The primary shooter on the 4GB and 64GB models will be a 32-megapixel Sony lens.
The remainder of the cameras, though, stay the same, with a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. Up front, you’ll receive a Sony 24-megapixel ultra-clear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a variety of incredible options to pick from.
So far, as previously stated, the technical specifications and performance are both excellent on paper. The Umidigi A9 Pro can take good photographs with loads of details and beautiful color saturation in favorable lighting. The primary issue, though, is in the night photographs.
Umidigi A9 Pro: Battery Capacity
On the battery front, the Umidigi A9 Pro is powered by a 4150mAh Li-Po cell. Depending on how often you open the screen, make calls, or read messages, you’ll receive no less than 24 hours of battery life if you’re a moderate user. When it comes to charging, the box includes a 10W fast charger, which isn’t particularly quick but is faster than the standard 5W charger. However, charging the device from zero to 100 percent takes close to three hours.
Price of Umidigi A9 Pro
The Umidigi A9 Pro is presently available on jumia.ng for 65,000 (approximately $166) for the 4GB + 64GB variation and 77,000 (about $195) for the larger 6GB and 128GB version as of this writing. This is a fantastic offer for a phone with these specifications, and we don’t expect you to pass it up.
