It’s difficult not to feel sorry for the LG G6, which is competing against the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ (Review). There was a brief period following the G6’s official announcement at MWC 2017 when it received some attention, but even then, everyone’s attention was focused on Galaxy S8 rumours and Samsung’s decision to release the phone later with a more powerful chipset. LG was able to launch early because it chose to employ Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 from last year rather than waiting for the Snapdragon 835, which was an unusual decision.
LG G6 Summary
LG scheduled the release of its G6 flagship to capitalize on a market gap. It lacks cutting-edge hardware but makes up for it with flair and sophisticated functionality. Its 2:1 “FullVision” screen, which takes up the majority of the front face, is its distinguishing feature. This phone is constructed to last and has a strong feel to it. It has a hefty appearance, but it is easy to grasp and operate. You can choose between regular and wide-angle lenses on the twin rear cameras, and both capture excellent photos. The battery life is likewise excellent.
