Verizon Stream TV Gen 2 comes with WiFi 6 and costs $69.99
Verizon Wireless has announced the availability of the Stream TV Gen 2 streaming gadget, which is powered by Android TV. It has a new Verizon user interface and is already available for $69.99. The software for the original model, which was released in February, will be updated as well, with new UI and navigation enhancements.
The Verizon Stream TV Gen 2 is a more stylish version of the previous device from earlier this year. If you didn’t know, the initial Stream TV looked just like a regular set-top box. The current version, on the other hand, looks like a small soundbar.
However, the actual characteristics of this device are unknown. However, 4K streaming, HDR10, and HDR10+ are stated to be supported. Unlike the previous model, which was certified for Netflix after it was released, the new model comes pre-loaded with Netflix.
Other platforms supported by the streaming device include YouTube TV, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, ESPN+, Yahoo, Pluto TV, HBO Max, and Starz. Users can also download a variety of other apps and games from the Google Play Store in addition to these services.
In addition, the Verizon Stream TV Gen 2 includes dual-band WiFi 6, which is unusual in this market. Finally, as an Android TV device, it comes with Chromecast Built-in and a Google Assistant remote control, as well as a wall mount bracket.

New Verizon Fios and 5G Home customers, on the other hand, will receive this streaming device for free. In addition, the company has released an app called Stream TV Mobile, which allows clients to search, purchase, and watch VOD purchases.
The new Stream TV is notable for being the first Android TV box featuring the Amlogic S905X4 processor. That it can decode the AV1 codec, which is required for all new Android TV devices. This is fantastic news, especially since additional Google services, including Stadia, are embracing that technology.
The operator tier, which allows for more customization, has been a key part of Android TV’s growth over the last year. The heavily-skinned new UI of the Stream TV is made feasible by this. The Android TV homescreen is fully redesigned with content recommendations at the top and apps straight below. It’s a nice look, but it’s clearly different from what Google provides to its customers. Verizon will be releasing this UI to the old Stream TV in the near future.
